Bali

Bali is one of the most popular international tourism destinations in the world. The Balinese culture, tropical beaches and island village atmosphere is what so many visitors seek in a holiday destination for relaxation and fun.

Bali is one of many provinces of the Republic of Indonesia, consisting of many thousands of islands sprawled from Sumatra to Papua.  Situated between Java and Lombok, the island’s surface area equates to approximately 0.29% of Indonesia. Bali measures approximately 140km in diameter from west to east.

With a population exceeding 3,000,000 people, the large majority are Hindus. The coastal areas to the south are most popular, with more than 370,000 people living in the capital city, Denpasar. The Balinese economy is traditionally supported by the farming, fishing, trading and craftsmanship industries, however in recent years the ever-increasing popularity of the destination with holiday-goers has further bolstered the region’s financial system.

Similar to other tropical island locations, Bali has a tropical monsoon climate. Temperatures are predominantly between 20 and 33 degrees celsius during the day, with cool evenings throughout winter.

There is an abundance of activities and tours available for your enjoyment. The most popular options include shopping, surfing at the many pristine beaches, massage and spa treatments. Visitors can tour the local Indonesian Temples, feed the resident village monkeys, indulge in the delectable Indonesian cuisine and swim with dolphins at Lovina, in the north of Bali.

Being a relatively small island, transportation from point A to B is readily available. Bus and Taxi travel is the most common form of transport on the island, however cars, motorbikes and bicycles are all available for hire. Local cruise operators also provide day cruise options and transfers to other neighbouring island communities.
